Running for charity is a fantastic way to get fit and healthy and raise money for a great cause at the same time. Yorkshire Cancer Research has guaranteed places in the most popular running events in the North of England, but if you can’t see the event you’re interested in, just request a fundraising pack and we will send you everything you need to get started!

Jane Tomlinson Run for All Hull 10k - 3rd June 2012

'Run For All' is a series of mass participation events organised in Jane Tomlinson’s memory which are open to people of all abilities. Launched in 2009, the Hull 10K brings together runners from across East Yorkshire, the region and beyond as it grows in popularity each year.
 

Men Only 5k Run - R U Taking the P? - 17th June 2012

This men-only running event, now in its third year, will once again encourage hundreds of Yorkshire men to recognise and get help for gender-specific cancers early whilst raising money for a good cause.

Jane Tomlinson Run for All Leeds 10k - 8th July 2012  

'Run For All' is a series of mass participation events organised in Jane Tomlinson’s memory which are open to people of all abilities. Since launching in 2007, the 'original' Run for All has seen almost 50,000 people take part in the Leeds 10K. We are an official charity partner for this event.

Bupa Great North Run - 16th September 2012  

Firmly established as the world’s most popular iconic half-marathon, The Bupa Great North Run is the premier event in the Great Run series.

Runners who were unsuccessful in the registration ballot can take apply for one of our guaranteed places.

Jane Tomlinson Leeds Half Marathon - 13th May 2012  

The Jane Tomlinson Leeds Half Marathon is one of the most popular half marathons in the north of England, with keen runners taking part from across the region. The challenging 13.1 mile course is set throughout the streets of Leeds, starting on the Headrow and finishing on Millennium Square in the city centre.

 

Sheffield Half Marathon - 27th May 2012

The SIG Insulations Sheffield Half Marathon is one of the biggest participation events in Sheffield's sporting calendar, with city centre landmarks and roads lined with enthusiastic spectators to support elite, club and local runners.

 

Great Manchester Run - 20th May 2012 

This 10k run takes in all the top sights of central Manchester and has become increasingly popular with celebrity runners.The start line is on Portland Street near the junction with Oxford Street while the finish line is on Deansgate.

 

Humber Bridge Half Marathon - 24th June 2012  

More than 2,000 runners take part in the Humber Bridge Half Marathon, organised by the Hull and Barton Rotary Clubs, each year. With spectacular views of the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire Wolds, and the longest bridge in the world you can cross on foot, the 13-mile run is a great event.

 

Hepworth Dryad - 24th June 2012

The Hepworth Dryad is a challenging five-mile, multi-terrain run in and around the beautiful countryside village of Hepworth.

 

Great Yorkshire Run - 2nd September 2012

The Great Yorkshire Run is held in Sheffield every year. Participants complete a city centre course which starts and finishes at Arundel Gate.

Dublin Marathon - 29th October 2012

The Dublin Marathon runs through the historic Georgian streets of Dublin, Ireland's largest and capital city, home to a quarter of the country's almost 4 million people. The reaction of many thousands of spectators lining the city streets has led to the event being internationally dubbed the 'Friendly Marathon'!

ING New York Marathon 2012 - 4th November 2012

We also support the ING New York Marathon. The premier event of New York Road Runners, this event is one of the world's great road races, drawing more than 100,000 applicants annually.
