Face-to-face fundraising at Yorkshire Cancer Research

Face-to-face fundraising is one of the most important and cost-effective ways of engaging with members of the public about the work of Yorkshire Cancer Research. It allows us to share information about the pioneering research and services we fund and gives people an opportunity to make a regular gift that will help save lives in Yorkshire and beyond.

We are currently working with two specialist fundraising partners; Engage and Connect and One Sixty, who help us coordinate and carry out our campaigns. Below you can find the details of the locations in which they will be fundraising this week.

Our fundraisers visit homes, high streets and private sites such as shopping centres in specific areas across Yorkshire, asking people to make a regular donation to Yorkshire Cancer Research via Direct Debit. 

We are currently working with two specialist agencies; Engage and Connect and One Sixty. They help us carry out our face-to-face fundraising campaigns and use fundraisers who are specifically trained for our campaigns.

Face-to-face fundraising is one of the most effective ways we can raise vital funds to save lives in Yorkshire. Yorkshire Cancer Research is currently funding £75m of cancer research and services and regular donations are hugely important for us to continue our work.

By fundraising in this way, we can reach out and engage people in person to raise awareness of our charity and the impact we are having on those with cancer in Yorkshire and beyond.

Our face-to-face fundraisers can only sign individuals up to a monthly Direct Debit and are not able to accept cash. If you would prefer to give a one-off donation, you can do so using our online donation form. Yorkshire Cancer Research is grateful for any type of support you are able to give.

Monthly donations help long-term planning for the future of our charity and the research we fund so we can have a bigger impact on those living with cancer in Yorkshire. Regular gifts help us be more cost effective by reducing admin costs which are associated with processing one-off donations. You also benefit as you are in control of your donation and can cancel your monthly gift at any time by contacting the Supporter Engagement team supportercare@ycr.org.uk or contacting your bank directly. If you do make any changes to your monthly gift, including cancellation, we would really appreciate you letting us know using the contact details provided.

Yorkshire Cancer Research is registered with the Fundraising Regulator and we adhere to the Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Fundraising Practice. All fundraisers who work on our behalf are held to these standards. Fundraisers undertake regular training and are continuously monitored to ensure they maintain the high standards Yorkshire Cancer Research sets.

You can find a list of the places where our fundraisers are working each week on the page above. All Yorkshire Cancer Research fundraisers have an ID badge and will be wearing our branded clothing. Teams working in private sites, such as shopping centres, will work as per the site’s opening hours, while door-to-door fundraisers work between 10am and 9pm.
