NICE: familial breast cancer consultation response

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) produce best practice guidance for the NHS. When developing this guidance, they ask for experts and organisations to contribute by highlighting the relevant evidence in the area.

In September 2025 NICE released the draft scope for the update of their guidance on the initial assessment and genetic testing for familial breast cancer. Yorkshire Cancer Research responded to this consultation, drawing attention to the charity’s joint recent position statement on the use of PARPi as a risk reduction strategy and the PROTECT-C research study.
