Incorporating the patient voice into quality improvement for cancer diagnosis in primary care

Significant Event Audit (SEA) is a method that GPs and primary care teams use to try and improve the quality of care that they provide.

It can be used to reflect on any area, including the contact that individual patients have with their GP surgery before they are referred to hospital for a suspected cancer diagnosis.

SEA is a valuable learning tool, but it only provides information from the doctor or nurse's point of view. 

This programme will design an SEA to allow patients to reflect on their diagnosis, and evaluate how incorporating their 'voice' helps improve quality in primary care.
