Collection tin terms and conditions

Permission for a collection must be granted from the appropriate persons. If the collection tin is for use in a private property, permission should be granted from the property owner. If the collection tin is for use in a public place, the local authority must be contacted.

Any donations collected must be donated to Yorkshire Cancer Research, registered charity number 516898.

All donations collected must be submitted in full to Yorkshire Cancer Research. No deductions made for expenses or fees can be made.

All collection tins and monies collect from a fundraising event must be submitted to Yorkshire Cancer Research within one month of the event date.

Collections on behalf of Yorkshire Cancer Research must be carried out by persons over the age of 18. If you are below 18 and want to take part in a collection, please get in touch with the fundraising team by emailing fundraising@ycr.org.uk.

If the collection is static and ongoing, (e.g. a collection tin on a shop counter or bar) the tin must be emptied after six months and all donations must be submitted to Yorkshire Cancer Research.

Collections tins must only be used with an unbroken seal securing the tin. If you require a new seal, please contact Yorkshire Cancer Research.  

A second person, whose details have been provided to Yorkshire Cancer Research, must be present at the counting of donations.

Both persons responsible for counting the collection time, must be over the age of 18.

Yorkshire Cancer Research will contact you by telephone and email with reference to your application. We will keep in touch via regular emails and by phone.

Your application for a Yorkshire Cancer Research collection tin does not guarantee that one will be offered. Collections must fall in line with the Charity's values and have a minimum age limit.

The collection tin lead is responsible for ensuring the safety and fair use of Yorkshire Cancer Research collection tins.  

If the tin/bucket is lost or stolen, or you believe the contents are being interfered with in any way, you must contact Yorkshire Cancer Research immediately and report it to your local police as soon as possible.
