Be a Yorkshire Cancer Research Influencer

Shaping progress together

Yorkshire Cancer Research Influencers are people living in Yorkshire who have experience of cancer.

This experience helps Yorkshire Cancer Research fulfil its mission - to take action today to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer more effectively in Yorkshire.

What's involved?

There are many ways to get involved that could suit your interests and availability.

You can share your voice through informal chats, surveys, workshops, media interviews and more. You will also hear about opportunities to join the Research Advisory Panel, which helps make funding decisions about life-saving cancer research and services in Yorkshire.

Once you have joined the Influencers, the charity will keep you updated on all opportunities so you can decide how you can get involved. However you choose to contribute, your insights will make a real difference.

Am I eligible?

You must be:

  • 18 or over
  • Live in Yorkshire
  • Have personal experience of cancer

The charity wants to hear from you, no matter your experiences or background.

You don't need any formal training to be a Yorkshire Cancer Research Influencer. A friendly team is here to help your voice be heard.

The Yorkshire Cancer Research Influencers either have or have had cancer or have supported a loved one with cancer. For some of us, it’s both.

Cancer has changed our lives – but it doesn’t define who we are.

We’re turning our experiences into action to make things better for others facing cancer in Yorkshire. By influencing the work of the charity, we are helping make a difference.”
