Yorkshire Cancer Research Responds to Government Consultation on Tobacco Packaging Inserts

In November 2025, the Department of Health and Social Care launched a consultation titled ‘Implementing inserts in cigarette and hand-rolling tobacco packaging’. The consultation invited respondents to review and comment on the Government’s proposals for delivering its commitment to mandate inserts containing information to help people stop smoking inside tobacco packaging.

Yorkshire Cancer Research welcomes this commitment and has proposed several recommendations to help maximise the impact of the policy, including strengthening the messaging and improving the placement of inserts.
