Yorkshire Cancer Research Responds to the Autumn Budget 2025 content
On 26 November 2025, Yorkshire Cancer Research was invited by HM Treasury and the Department of Health and Social Care to submit its response to the Autumn Budget. In this response, the Charity welcomed key measures such as investment in Neighbourhood Health Centres, additional funding for NHS technology and the extension of the Soft Drinks Industry Levy. These steps have the potential to improve cancer prevention and care across Yorkshire.
However, the Charity expressed disappointment that several evidence-based measures were not included, such as a Tobacco Industry Levy and Minimum Unit Pricing for alcohol, and raised concerns about the introduction of a Vaping Products Duty.
