The Yorkshire Lung Screening Trial: Biomarker study

Detecting lung cancer through screening saves lives.

The Yorkshire Lung Screening Trial (YLST) will test community-based lung cancer screening in mobile vans across Leeds to work out who would most benefit from screening.

The aim is to maximise this valuable opportunity by taking a blood sample when people attend the mobile vans for their scan to look for signs of lung cancer and address the following important questions:

  • Can a blood test more accurately determine who should have a scan?
  • Can a blood test be used to detect lung cancer earlier?
  • Can a blood test improve the performance of scans?

Every 15 minutes, someone in Yorkshire is told they have cancer.

Our aim is for more people to survive cancer, here in Yorkshire and beyond.

Please help us continue to fund life-saving research.
